Upon arrival you will be greeted in reception and asked to complete a registration form.
You will then be taken through to the pre scanning area where you will be asked a number of safety questions.
The Radiographer will also fully explain the procedure to you and you need to change into a gown.
Your valuables will be safely locked away in the changing cubicle and you will then be escorted into the scan room.

In the scan room you will be asked to lie upon the MRI scanner table and the technicians will explain what you need to do throughout the scan.
You will need to lie very still and listen through earphones to some instructions about breathing.
Some patients will also need to have an injection during the scan, but again all will be fully explained.
Some patients may be anxious about the procedure, but don’t worry we will be right there to help you through and we will be in constant communication with you.
The scan will take anywhere between 20-45 minutes, depending on the number of images we need to take.
After the scan you will be escorted out of the scan room and returned to the cubicle to change back into your clothes.
You are then free to go and we will forward the results to your doctor within 24 hours.
